Boy, May has come in with some wild weather this year. We have had high gusts of wind and lots of rain with a smattering of sunshine. I do enjoy the winds when I don't have to worry about trees coming down. Luckily our trees seem to be standing firm, altho we did see a tree down in Eugene yesterday. It is certainly perfect weather for being snuggled next to a fireplace near a big window with a good book and a good glass of wine! It would especially be nice if that window looked out over the ocean! :-)
So...this week end...yesterday we spent the afternoon with Ben and Jen. We went to a car show in Eugene. By the time we got there it was winding down but we still saw some cool cars. We also went to Saturday Market which is always amusing. We saw lots of "interesting" items and people. The music was also interesting...a bit of home grown reggae. I couldn't get any of my family to dance, altho Jenn humored me a bit by bopping up and down. Afterwards we went to a local (Springfield) Mexican restaurant, Memo's for some great authentic food.
Today I did errands while Frank worked on his school work. I found a few "treasures" at Goodwill. I had been looking at a game by Hasbro at Walmart but it was 20.00 there. I scored at Goodwill and paid only 2.00. Of course I also found several books and even two on CDs so I can listen to them when I travel. One, The Gift I will save until next Christmas to listen to. I always find a ton of books on tapes, but rarely on CDs so am always on the look out for them. I had originally been looking for a tunnel for one of the social groups I am working with but never found one, or at least and affordable one. I also walked around the mall as I needed to pick up a gift for my assistant's birthday which is this week. All in all it was a rather relaxing day.
Hope all is well with everyone.
